Back in 2006, I found myself in the uncomfortable situation of having two job interviews on the same day. (I would never recommend that, by the way; the first one went great, but I was exhausted and burned out by the time I got to the second one. Oh well, I don’t think I would have liked the second company anyway, and I am still happy to this day working for the company I interviewed that morning!) I wanted to see where these two locations were in relation to each other, and in relation to my apartment and school, so I could plan my day. I hopped onto Google Maps, hoping to be able to plot these four locations on the same map. To my dismay, it was not possible.
But, I wasn’t going to give up. I had wanted to play around with the Google Maps API before that, so this was my chance. I created a site to plot multiple locations on Google Maps, and I have used it countless times since then. Other people have also found it useful; I get a little over 1,000 page views per day (on week days, slightly less on weekends).
