Me on the ‘Net
In addition to this site, I maintain a couple of other personas on the Internet. Here are links to them.
Stackoverflow.com
Stackoverflow is a question/answer site for programmers. It is a great way to ask questions of fellow programmers, and get answers from real people. Don’t get me wrong, Google search results are great, but sometimes it can be hard to find the right search terms for your question, especially if some of those terms also have a different, more common (to the general population) meaning.
Bitbucket
Bitbucket is a great code hosting tool, like Github, but with a slicker UI and better features (if I do say so myself.) I have a couple of public projects on my personal account, and a few more private projects as well.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a social networking site, with a slant toward professional networking. There are no walls to write on, or photo sharing (other than your profile picture), but you can give and receive recommendations from current and past coworkers. If you aren’t familiar with it, check it out. I promise it won’t be nearly as big of a time sink as My Space/Facebook
Flickr
I love using Flickr to manage and organize my photos. In addition, it serves as my off-site backup for all of my photos, so in case something happens to my home computer, I won’t lose all my irreplaceable photos.
